Join us for a night of networking with graduate students, post docs, and industry professionals who share an interest in biotechnology, big pharma, and entrepreneurship.  This event, hosted by GRO-Biotech, will offer a great chance to learn about and discuss the latest trends in biotechnology and to connect with like-minded individuals from all over New York City.

In collaboration with Sinai’s Post Doc Executive Committee, we plan regular tours to local large, small, and start up biotech companies.  They are a great way to meet professionals, discover new careers in industry, find out how to get industry jobs, and connect with colleagues with similar interests.  Make sure you know about the next one in the next 2-3 months by signing up on our mailing list!

Hackathon Series 2016

In collaboration with Sinai Biotech, the Mount Sinai Institute of Technology (MSIT) is planning its next set of workshops! This next series will focus on the basics of prototyping, and having participants build their own device that they can use in the lab. Even if you have no prototyping or programming experience, you can learn to do it and apply those skills at the Hackathon or the Pre-Hackathon Workshop Series. 1. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals tour in Tarrytown, NY — July 25, 2014 @ 1 PM

We will be hosting a personalized guided tour of Regeneron on July 25th. Learn how MDs and PhDs contribute to an world-renowned biotechnology company! Founded in 1988, Regeneron holds patents on novel fusion protein technology and fully human monoclonal antibody platforms. In 2012, Regeneron was voted the world’s #1 biopharmaceutical employer by Science Magazine and Biotech Company of the Year by Scrip Intelligence. Attendance will be limited to 40 students/postdocs by RSVP.

2. Summer Biotech/Pharma Roundtable Series

In this summer roundtable series, exciting current areas of biotech research will be discussed by leading Sinai faculty followed by a dynamic small group discussion based on assigned high impact journal articles pertaining to the topic.  Discussion topics will revolve around understanding and applying new research or technological breakthroughs. Lunch will be served. Attendance will be limited to 15 students/postdocs by RSVP.

3. Pfizer Tour at the Alexandria Center for Life Science- February 10, 2015 @ 11am

Dr. Mark Kaplan and his associates at Pfizer’s Centers for Therapeutic Innovation in New York are going to be hosting a tour at the Alexandria Center.  For the first 30 minutes, a panel of various scientists and professionals will discuss what they do at the CTI and how they got there.  This will be followed by a tour of the facility.

4. Career Panels and Socials in Collaboration with CIG, NYU Biotech, and Weill Cornell Biotech Club – Spring 2015

In collaboration with CIG, we will host a series of workshops meant to help you break into consulting, biotech, and big data science. Also, come to our joint social with NYUBA and WCBC to meet fellow med students, grad students, and postdocs at our wine, cheese, and dessert mixer.
